The Secret of ALLAH S.W.T Found in Honey

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَخِي يَشْتَكِي بَطْنَهُ فَقَالَ اسْقِهِ عَسَلًا ثُمَّ أَتَى الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ اسْقِهِ عَسَلًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ اسْقِهِ عَسَلًا ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ فَقَالَ قَدْ فَعَلْتُ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَكَذَبَ بَطْنُ أَخِيكَ اسْقِهِ عَسَلًا فَسَقَاهُ فَبَرَأَ

Rasulullah S.A.W declared:
“Indeed someone came to Prophet S.A.W and said, my brother has stomachache, and Rasul S.A.W declared: Give him honey. Then the same man came again saying that his brother is still sick, Rasul S.A.W declared: Give him honey. And he came for the third time (his brother is still sick) and Rasul S.A.W declared: Give him honey. That man said: I have done it (twice) but he’s yet to recover. Rasul S.A.W declared: Give him honey, indeed Allah is The Most Knowledgeable and don’t you be fooled by your brother’s stomach. Hence the man gave his brother honey (for the third time) and he recovered.” (Shahih Bukhari)

Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
All Praise Be to Allah S.W.T The Most Magnificent, Who has invited all of us to come, until The Light of God’s Splendor comes down to this land of Jakarta, which has been prepared and has reached out my name and all of your names who attend this Majelis, to be glorified by God’s Blessing and Mercy, to receive the nobility and intimacy with the presence of Allah in order to get closer to Allah, to be greatly loved Allah, to be forgiven by Allah, to get closer towards God’s Love which will always protect His servants, being offered to all descendants of Adam who live in the world of Allah, the sky and earth belongs to Allah have been offered to me and all of you, the closeness to Him and happiness in the world and the life after from The Owner of the world and the life after.

He is Allah, the Most Noble Name to declare, the only Name most deserved to be longed for and to be loved from all names, the Name of the Most Everlasting and Eternal and the Most Perfect, The One and Only with Perfection, The Most Everlasting with all the magnificence and power, all authority would fall apart, the only thing left is the Kingdom of Allah,(which is) The Whole World, the power of Allah is eternal, before the whole world was created until it ends, before the life existed, until all kinds of life is created and ended, until all eyes could no longer see, until all lips could no longer speak, until all ears could no longer hear, He is The Most Everlasting and will always be real throughout the time and era. And Allah S.W.T, The Sustainer of the whole world, The Most Generous in Giving Blessings, The Most Generous and The Kindest towards all His servants. Those who are faithful and those who are not, will still obtain The Love of Allah throughout their life.

“Huwalladzii anzala minassamaai maa’an lakum minhu syarabun waminhu syajarun wa fiihi tusiimuuna; yumbitu lakum bihizzar a’wazzaituna wannakhila wal a’naaba wamin kulli tsamaraati, inna fii dzalika la ayatalliqaumin yatafakkaruna” QS. An-Nahl : 10 - 11

Ladies and gentlemen being glorified by Allah,
Allah S.W.T declared, “He is the one who bestows water from the sky for you”. Written in the most beautiful sentence, “Huwalladzii anzala minassamaai maa anlakum…” being bestowed by Allah S.W.T, water from the sky for you; QS. An-Nahl: 10. The word ‘you’ means all of His servants, those who are alive (certainly the offspring of Adam, which are all of us). “minhu syarabun..” and from such water you get your drinking water, from it comes spring waters and wells to keep the deposit of water within the mother earth, to keep the water supply in the lakes and rivers; QS. An-Nahl: 10. Those are the water that Allah drops from the sky to control our life cycles. “..waminhu syajarun fiihi tusiimuuna” and also grows the life of the trees and plantations, and you give water to your cattle and livestock; QS. An-Nahl: 10. “Yumbitu lakum bihi azzar a’wazzaituna wannakhila wal a’naaba wamin kulli tsamaraati”, being grown for all of you, all the fields and those you are planting, also fruiting such as zaitun (zaitun fruits) and dates and grapes that keeps on growing on the surface of the earth, because of the rain falls, as well as for any other plants; QS. An-Nahl: 11. “..inna fii dzalika la ayatalliqaumin yatafakkaruna” indeed within this thing holds the signs for those who want to think. Everything in this whole world is managed by the most perfect regulation from The Most Perfect. And all of this is the sign of God’s Love.

Ladies and gentlemen, “wasakhkhara lakumullaila wannahara wasysyamsa wal qamara wannujuumu musakhkharatun bi amrihi, inna fidzalika la ayaatilliqaumin ya’qiluuna” He is Allah who has also restrained days and nights, the sun and the moon, and has controlled for all of you, the stars to always be obedient to Allah; QS. An-Nahl: 12. “..musakhkharatum bi amrihi” the sun and the moon will always rotate from their pivots, the earth will rotate from its pivot, days and nights take turn without racing with one another. And so does the sun rotate from its pivot, the moon from its pivot, so that humankind recognizes both the Syamsiyah (Masehi) and Qamariyah (Hijriyyah/ first year of the Moslem era) calendars, which is the calculation of the year, the moon and the sun with hijriyyah and masehi. Humankind recognizes this by the regular appearance of sun and moon each year.

Ladies and gentlemen glorified by Allah,
As declared by Allah, has been conquered for you all, the day and the night, the day brings the sunray and x-ray for the health improvement within our body, while the night is made for the plants to absorb more oxygen and to maintain humidity. And this is how Allah rules this circle of life. “wasakhkhara lakumullaila wannahara wasysyamsa wal qamara wannujuumu musakhkharatum bi amrihi” and the stars become the guidance controlled by Allah S.W.T and they are obedient towards Allah’s commands; QS. An-Nahl: 12. This whole world “…musakhkharatum bi amrihi”, from all the millions of galaxy in the whole space, until the smallest particle of our body cells are obedient towards the commands of Rabbul Alamin, He is (Allah) The Greatest Regulator.

My beloved audience, Allah also declared, “wahuwalladzi sakhkharalbahra lita’kuluu minhu lahman thariyyan watastakhrijuu minhu hilyatan talbasuunaha” He (Allah) is the one Who conquered the ocean for you all, in order that you can benefit from it, the fresh fish; QS. An-Nahl: 14. “lahman thariyyan” and all of you take the fish meat with no profane although they are not being slaughtered but it is considered righteous according to Islamic law. How magnificent! Allah makes the ocean the messenger of Blessing and easiness for all of us. “watastakhrijuu minhu hilyatan talbasuunaha” and all of you can benefit from that ocean, jewelries you wear such as pearls and other beautiful jewels; QS. An-Nahl: 14. And Allah makes even our jewelries created from earth. Gold, diamonds, gemstones, pearls and many other things are spread out and prepared by Allah on the surface of the earth. Not only foods and drinks, but also jewelries have been prepared by Allah for such a perfect kind of life, what about the life after death? It would be even more perfect.

My beloved audience, The Most Gracious and Generous always introduces His Love to all of us. Now we come to this noble hadits, where Rasul S.A.W taught us to cure ourselves with honey. As mentioned by Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anh that a man came to Rasul S.A.W saying that his brother had stomachache. Rasul S.A.W said, “Give him a honey drink”. Hence that man followed the instruction from The Prophet S.A.W. Not long after he came for the second time saying that his brother had yet to recover, in fact he was getting worse. Hence Rasul S.A.W said, “Let him drink honey”. The third time he came again, “O’ Rasulullah he has yet to recover”, Rasul S.A.W replied, “Let him drink honey.” Then the man said “I have done it twice but he didn’t feel better”. Rasul S.A.W replied, “shadaqallahu wa kadzaba badhnu akhiika” Allah is The Truest, don’t believe in whatever happened to your brother. Then the honey was given for the third time and his brother recovered.

Ladies and gentlemen being glorified by Allah,
Allah S.W.T mentioned in QS: An-Nahl which was instructed to the bees, “wa awhaa Rabbuka illannahli anittakhidzii minal jibali buyutan waminasysyajari wa mimma ya’risyuuna; tsumma kulii min kullisysyamarati faslukii subula Rabbiki dzululan yakhruju mim buthuuniha syarabun mukhtalifun alwaanuhu, fiihi syifaa’ullinnaas, inna fidzalika la ayatalliqaumin yatafakkarun” QS. An-Nahl : 68 – 69.

“wa awhaa Rabbuka illa annahli” And your God has given instruction (command) to the bees; “anittakhidzii minal jibali buyutan” to make their houses (their nests) in the mountain, and not in the place where human live. Make those mountains your nests, O’ bees and on the trees and you all may build nests also in the places built and prepared by humankind to get your honey. How magnificent, Allah’s instruction towards the bees to comply with humankind. Allah declared, “anittakhidzii minal jibali buyutan, waminassyajari, wamimmaa ya’risyuun” O’ bees, all of you stay in the mountains or on the trees, or in the places built by humankind for you”, hence it has been ordered by Allah.

Beloved audience being glorified by Allah,
“Tsumma kulii min kullisysyamarati” then you (the bees) may eat all kind of fruits and flowers. “Faslukii subula Rabbiki dzululan” follow the commands of your God who owns you O’ bees, by being obedient and respectful, hence those bees obey the command by only eating the essence of flowers and fruits. “Yakhruju mim buthuuniha syarabun mukhtalifun alwaanuhu” hence come out from the belly of the bees the drink or liquid with different color. There are white, yellow and the darker color or black honey. “Mukhtalifun alwaanuhu fiihi syifaullinnaas” honey is the liquid coming out from a bee which contains the medication for humankind. “Inna fidzalika la ayatalliqaumin yatafakkarun” in this incident there is the signs of Allah’s greatness for those who want to think of it.

Al Imam Ibn Hajar in Fathul Baari bisyarh Shahih Bukhari mentioned about the above hadits that has association with this verse. Rasul S.A.W mentioned “shadaqallahu wa kadzaba badhnu akhi”, Allah has commanded that within the liquid from a bee there are remedies. “Syifaulinnaas” (medication for humankind), hence Rasul S.A.W declared, “shadaqallahu wa kadzaba badhnu akhiik” Allah The Truest, don’t believe in your brother’s illness. Keep giving him honey, though drinking honey made his stomachache even worse, Rasul S.A.W said, “give him honey again, give him again”. Al Imam Ibn Hajar explained that in the story of thibbun nabawiy (therapies from The Prophet S.A.W) the honey has the ability to kill bacteria, germs and viruses. The worse the viruses attack someone, the person need more honey. Therefore Rasul S.A.W ordered him to drink it again and again. “It means the dosage was not enough to cure your brother, add more honey until he recovered,” as mentioned by Hujjatul Islam wabarakatul anam Al Imam Ibn Hajar Al Asqalani in Fathul Baari bisyarh Shahih Bukhari.

And our scientists discovered 1 miracle in the bees when producing honey. Many of the animals in this earth are indeed created and ordered by Allah to produce more than what they need, because those productions are prepared for humankind. Bees produce honey more than what they need, even much bigger than what they need. The bees’ needs are little but they produce a great deal of honey as ordered by Allah. So do the chicken and cows: the hens lay eggs almost every day while they don’t need it, the cows produce milk much more than what their calves need. This is the regulation and the perfection of ecosystem ruled by The Great and The Most Magnificent.

The scientists also discovered that the perfection of a bee has been meticulously arranged by Allah, bees maintain the moisture of their honey because they had been ordered by Allah to abide by the offspring of Adam with their honey, hence they do take care of their honey although they produce more than what they need in their nests. They even maintain the certain temperature. As informed by our scientist, Prof. Dr. Harun Yahya that in those bee nests, there are doors for the bees to keep the temperature at 35°Celcius for 10 months!. If the temperature in the nest is low or cold, they would flap their wings facing outside, so that the air inside the nest will go out and the temperature will raise up to 35°Celcius, on the other hand, if the air inside the nest is hot, they will flap their wings facing inside, so that the air can come in and the temperature will stay at 35°Celcius.

The bees abide by the order from Rabbul Alamin Jalla Wa Alla and indeed the bees also have some kind of essence as explained by Allah. “Yakhruju mim buthuuniha syarabun mukhtalifun alwaanuhu” the liquid coming out from the bee has different colors; QS. An-Nahl: 69. Not only honey but there is also another liquid so called “propolis”. Propolis is one of the strongest antibiotics on earth. It comes from the bee but not honey, but instead it is an antibiotic in form of liquid produced by the bee to protect their nests. So once there are destructive bacteria or germs come, the bees would expel their propolis liquid and kill the bacteria. and in fact the propolis can be used as the strongest antibiotic and will not have any side effects. “Fiihi syifaullinnaas” from the liquid coming out from it (the bee) brings cure for humankind. And such thing have been well understood by Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W. he had known this, while saying “shadaqallahu wa kadzaba badhnu akhiik” Allah The Truest, don’t believe in your brother’s disease whose stomachache getting worse, give him more honey, give him the drink from the bee again. He S.A.W said this because he knows exactly the components within the liquid expelled by the bee, to the liquid coming out from the insects, to what elements in the wings of a fly. All of these have been clearly known by Nabiyyuna Muhammad S.A.W. The more we follow sunnah, the more perfect and healthier our life will be.

This is our noble Prophet, my idol and the idol of all of you and lucky to those who love him S.A.W. As declared by Rasul S.A.W, “almar u ma’a man ahab” someone is with together with the one he loves, as written in Shahih Bukhari. And ladies and gentlemen, this hadits calls upon all souls to offer them to be together with Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W, do we want to be with Rasulullah S.A.W? This hadits has opened up the widest gate for us to be together with Muhammad Rasulullah S.A.W. Love our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.

Ladies and gentlemen being glorified by Allah,
The most perfect man, the most magnificent and beautiful man to be followed, he is Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W. Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anh said, while he was sitting and staring at the face of The Prophet S.A.W, “O’ Rasulullah, idza ra;aynaaka raqqat quluubinaa” O’ Rasulullah if we see your face, our soul is lift up towards solemnity. Ladies and gentlemen, can you imagine staring at one face that will make you even more solemn..?. That is the most magnificent face created by Allah, the face of Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W.

Ladies and gentlemen being glorified by Allah,
Rasul S.A.W declared, as mentioned by Al Imam Bukhari in his book Adabul Mufrad “alaa unabbi’ukum bi khiyarikum? Humul ladzina idza ru-uu dzukirallah” do you want me to inform you all, the most dignified person amongst you? It is the person in which if you see his face, makes you all remember Allah and recite dzikir towards Allah. They are the shalihin people, if the shalihin people are already so dignified, even more dignified us the leader of those shalihin, Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W. My beloved audience, this is the state of affairs of the comrades of Rasul S.A.W. They (radiyallahu anhum) are not ahlul ghaflah, they are ahlul khusyu’ whom days and nights filled with worshipping, their days and nights are filled with prayers, bowed down, reciting tasbih, dzikir and silent prayers. They are at the peak of solemnity, and their solemnity is even deeper once they look at the face of The Prophet S.A.W.

As written in Shahih Bukhari, Sayyidina Anas bin Malik declared, “ma ra aina mandharan, a’jab min wajhinnabiy S.A.W” we had never seen such a magnificent view other than the face of Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W. Beloved audience, the most amazing views are like the sun, the moon, the ocean and others. While saying “there is no greater magnificent view other than the face of Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W". The face deserved most to be loved from all kind of faces, the most gracious face, the most loving face from all the creatures of Allah, in which Allah mentioned, “wa innaka la’alaa khuluqin adhim, indeed you are (Prophet S.A.W) at the greatest character” (QS. Al Qalam: 4). (also Allah declared that The Prophet S.A.W is) Sirajan Munira (the brightest light) Sayyidina Muhammad S.A.W.

As written by Imam Bukhari in his book Adabul Mufrad, one of the comrades when Prophet S.A.W passed away, prayed to Allah “Allahumma khudz bashari hatta..” O’ Allah blind my eyes, I don’t want to see anything anymore after the passing away of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. Hence he was made blind by Allah. He was visited by other comrades, among others Ibn Abbas dan Ibn Umar radiyallahu anhuma “why are you blind now?.” he replied “I prayed to Allah asking for blindness”, “why?.” “I don’t need to see anymore after the face of Sayyiidina Muhammad S.A.W has no longer here on this earth”. And he continued, “It doesn’t have any meaning anymore to me, even the beautiful sights of a deer and all in this world and the life in this world doesn’t have any meaning if I could no longer see the face of my Prophet Muhammad S.A.W”.

This is love, this is mahabbah, and Rasul S.A.W has declared “I miss all my brothers”. Who are they? As written in Shahih Muslim “humul ladziin ya’isyuuna ba’di, yawaddu ahaduhum law ra’ani bi ahlihi wamaalihi” those who live after I die who are dying to see my face more than anything else.

My beloved audience may all of us be within the group that is deeply missed by Rasulullah S.A.W, with tears falling down our face, the shiver to see his eyes, and those who miss him after he passed away and really want to see his face. May my name and the names of all of you are sent towards the presence of The Prophet S.A.W, as the names of those who are longing for meeting with The Prophet S.A.W and being missed by The Prophet S.A.W. Those people that I long for, declared Rasul S.A.W. those who live after I die who are dying to see my face more than anything else, even wealth and their own family. Rabbiy Rabbiy kindly make all of us the people who are deeply missed by Rasulullah S.A.W.

Ya Rahman Ya Rahim, kindly glorify us in the name of The Grandeur of Your Blessing days and nights continuously in our life, from the sunrise until the sunset. Kindly ensure us always within Your blessings, ensure us always within The Light of Your Forgiveness, ensure us always withint The Light of Your Happiness, protect us from all kind of catastrophes, protect us from all difficulties, replace them with easiness. O’ The One Who alleviates all kind of difficulties, kindly facilitate us in solving all problems and facilitate us more and more.

Rabbiy, kindly not torture us if we make mistakes and commit sins, kindly forgive our sins, don’t overburden us with the burden that we are unable to bear. O’ Allah, kindly love us, and forgive us, mercy us, we entrust all our sins to the gate of Your forgiveness. We entrust our age to the gate of Your forgiveness, we entrust the rest of our age to the gate of Your forgiveness, we entrust the end of our life to the gate of Your forgiveness, kindly ensure that we will pass away within the peak of our longing for your presence. “Man ahabba liqa’i ahbabtu liqa’ahu” whoever long for meeting up with Me, I also long for meeting up with that person. Kindly ensure us pass our days even more longing for You, even more farther from sins, even more closer towards rewards, kindly pour us the prosperity in the world and beyond.

Ya Dzaljalali wal ikram, Ya Dzaththauli wal in’am. Not to forget we pray for our brothers who are trapped within the threat of narcotics, adultery, gambling, and all kind of faith destruction, may Allah S.W.T pour them with blessing and God’s Guidance. Ya Rahman Ya Rahim, we continue with reciting the prayer together to pray for all Moslems to have the leaders who can bring peace, fight against tyranny, abolish weaknesses, and defend faithful people. Amin Allahumma amin. Tafadhol masykura.

It comes to me the question on the law of following tarekat (mystical/spiritual path). I received many questions on this topic. Indeed ‘tarekat’ comes from the word ‘thariqah,’ meaning a method to reach a high level of solemnity and closeness towards Allah S.W.T, and there are the wrong tarekat and the right ones. There are those who walk through the right path, but there are also those who lead astray, therefore be smart in making choice. The one practiced by many in Indonesia is Thariqah Alawiyyah or the thariqah by the habaib and our Moslem clerics. Thariqah Alawiyyah is the ‘mother’ if all thariqah, because it combines haqiqah (truth) and syari’ah (Islamic laws). Therefore the lessons taught by thariqah alawiyyah are in line with sunnah of The Prophet S.A.W. What are the lessons from thariqah alawiyyah? Among others, Ratib Al Aththas, Ratib Al Haddad, all taken from the hadits of Rasulullah S.A.W. There is nothing from Thariqah Alawiyyah come from outside sunnah of The Prophet S.A.W, therefore we call it the ‘mother’ of thariqah from all thariqah, because it unites both syari’ah and haqiqah.

It differs from some thariqah which only gather ma’rifah (mystical knowledge/science) and haqiqah (truth) regardless its syari’at. It is a good thing, but if they leave the whole syari’ah, it is against the guidance from The Prophet S.A.W, because The Prophet S.A.W was raised to teach both syari’at and haqiqah. Syari’at is the laws and regulations in our life, material and physical things (jasadiyyah) such as the law of worship, the law of tijarah, the trade law, and the marriage law. While haqiqah, ma’rifah are the knowledge that will make us closer in a solemn way towards Allah S.W.T. Once again the understanding about Allah is guided by thariqah alawiyyah. Therefore our habaib walk within thariqah alawiyyah, just like our noble Guru Al Musnid Al Habib Umar bin Hafidh, also our Noble Guru Al Habib Zein bin Ibrahim bin Smeith in Medina, our Noble Guru Al Habib Salim bin Abdullah Syatiri in Tarim, our Noble Guru Syekh Muhammad bin Alwi Al Maliki, and also our Moclem Clerics K.H. Abdullah Syafi’ie, Muallim K.H. Syafi’i Hadzami, K.H. Nawawi Al Banteni alaihim rahmatullah ajmain, all of them are practicing hariqah alawiyyah. So did most of the Moslem clerics and leaders in the past, from Luarbatang, Kwitang, Empang Bogor and many other places. All of them practiced thariqah alawiyyah. If you want to follow other thariqah is also allowed, as long as it doesn’t go against the syari’ah of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W, if it is against it then don’t follow. This is my answer, ladies and gentlemen being glorified by Allahand now we continue with the closing prayer with the words of talqin from our Guru fadhilatul Sayyid Adda’iillaAllah Al Habib Hud bin Muhammad Bagir Al Aththas.
